Remembrance Day

Today on Remembrance Day, 4ZZZ volunteer and Ex-Navy Sailor Dave talked to other Veterans about their experiences in the military.

Dave talked to Theo Jahnke about his experience in the Royal Australian Navy and his deployment to Operation Slipper.

A pre-recorded interview was played with Thomas Brady an Australian veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Tom now wants to use stand-up comedy to help veterans transition back into civillian life.

The purpose of commemoration is to remember the heavy price that wars cost, not only to the people who die in battlefields but all the horrors that happens when diplomacy breaks down and egos take over.

‘Now it can be told’ by Phillip Gibbs

Gibbs was an English journalist and one of five official British reporters during the First World War. A lot of his writing was heavily censored by the British military so he could only publish this book after the war.
